Splitting a PDF allows you to extract only the pages you need from a larger document. Whether you need to pull out a single chapter from a textbook, isolate specific invoice pages, or create a smaller file for emailing, this tool handles it all directly in your browser with no server uploads required.
Enter page ranges using a simple, intuitive format. Use commas to separate individual pages or ranges, and hyphens for consecutive pages. For example, entering "1-3, 5, 7-10" will extract pages 1 through 3, page 5, and pages 7 through 10 into a single new PDF. The extracted pages maintain their original formatting, fonts, images, and annotations.
Your PDF files never leave your device. All processing is performed locally using the pdf-lib JavaScript library running in your browser. No data is transmitted to any server, making this tool safe for confidential and sensitive documents. Once you close the tab, the data is gone completely.
This tool works in all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For large PDF files, a desktop browser is recommended for optimal performance.
